M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
RIVERDALE, MD – As part of a month-long celebration, the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, (M-NCPPC) Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County is recognizing the contributions made by Hispanic and Latin Americans. Come celebrate their rich heritage and culture at the 37th Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival.
Each year The M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation hosts a Hispanic Festival in the beautiful, 40-acre Lane Manor Park, during Hispanic Heritage Month. The festival was established in 1980 and continues to grow each year, drawing crowds of 10,000 to 15,000 people. Some of this year’s sponsoring organizations include: El Zol 107.9, D.C.’s #1 Spanish Music Station, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), and DoubleTree by Hilton. COST: FREE; Food, rides and games have a nominal fee.
The Hispanic Festival offers a variety of activities, entertainment, and cultural experiences for the entire family:

- Interactive teen's and children's area
- Music
- Pony rides
- Live entertainment
Bring the family and celebrate the rich heritage of our Hispanic communities. There will be FREE shuttle rides from Langley Park-McCormick Elementary School in Langley Park and Rosa Parks Elementary School in Hyattsville. Shuttle rides begin at 11:30 am and leave every 30 minutes.
