Black History Month Virtual Book Discussion: "A Question of Freedom" with author William G. Thomas III

Thursday, February 17, 2022

Ages 16+

William G. Thomas III will share stories from his award-winning book A Question of Freedom: The Families Who Challenged Slavery from the Nation's Founding to the Civil War. Meet Ann Joice and the Mahoney's, enslaved families who fought for their freedom in the Prince George's County Court. Hear how these cases challenged slaveholders and the institution of slavery itself with the help of lawyers like William Pinkney and Francis Scott Key.

This program is brought to you by Darnall's Chance in conjunction with the M-NCPPC Black History Program. No registration required.
