Echoes of the Enslaved - A Legacy of Enslavement Panel Discussion (REGISTRATION CLOSED)

The Echoes of the Enslaved event series is part of a unique two-day commemoration held with the generous cooperation of The Slave Dwelling Project ( Three public events will address the lasting legacies of chattel slavery in Prince George's County and discuss archaeological discoveries that have provided insight into the daily lives of individuals who left little or no written record.

Joseph McGill, founder of the Slave Dwelling Project, will lead a diverse panel of scholars and genealogists to discuss the legacy of enslavement and the ways that archaeology helps us untangle the history of Prince George's County. Audience participation is strongly encouraged!

Join us for a bonfire conversation the evening of Friday, September 6 and Public Archaeology in the Slave Quarters Saturday, September 7, at 10 AM at Mount Calvert Historical and Archaeological Park.
