Turkeyball Shootout

Park Police's annual Turkeyball Skills Challenge is a round-robin basketball shootout that provides opportunities for youth to compete for turkeys. Park Police hosted the 4th Annual Turkeyball Skills Challenge at the Bladensburg, Oakcrest, and Glassmanor Community Centers in late 2012 and partnered with the Andray Blatche Foundation, which provided a turkey to every child who participated in the events. 150 turkeys were distributed and National Basketball Association (NBA) basketball player Andray Blatche spoke about the importance of staying in school and performing at one's best. He signed autographs and appeared in a group photo with the winners at the end of the competition.
