Sites
Prince George's County is a fast-growing suburban area, but M-NCPPC is preserving the natural and agricultural heritage of the county by owning, maintaining and interpreting rural areas for public use.
Natural Area Parks & Conservation Sites
Conservation area sites and natural area parks throughout Prince George's County emphasize preserving natural resources and educating the public about wildlife and ecology.
Hands-on exhibits, live animals, theme gardens and a variety of interpretive programs are available to visitors at our nature centers. Exciting interpretive and educational programs are conducted by professional park naturalists at these sites. The Old Maryland Farm, an educational facility within Watkins Regional Park, serves as an agricultural exhibit and livestock display area. Staff from the nature facilities works closely with conservation agencies, schools, and community groups to provide support for special events, natural area park management, and environmental education.
