The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC)
M-NCPPC was created by the Maryland General Assembly in 1927 to
develop and operate public park systems and provide land use planning for the
physical development of the great majority of
Montgomery
and Prince George's Counties,
and to operate the public recreation program in Prince George's County.
State of the art facilities and award winning programs have been the result.

Gas prices putting a damper in your travel plans?
Then look no further than your own backyard. Start your journey on or after May 10 by picking up an official 5 for Fun and Fitness game card for your chance to win an iPod or mountain bike. Stop by any M-NCPPC community or recreational facility in Prince George`s County to get a card, and then visit 5 different facilities (a community center, a nature center, a cultural arts center, an historic site or museum, and a sports facility) before July 15. Prize winners` names will be drawn during the July 31 outdoor concert at Watkins Regional Park.
Youth ID cards are now available FREE to residents ages 6-17!
These cards allow youth FREE access to M-NCPPC`s community centers throughout
Prince George `s County, and to many drop-in programs at the centers. With a FREE Youth ID card, teens ages 13-17 may enjoy Xtreme Teens recreation programs, and may use community center fitness/weight rooms for free. (Adult supervision is required in fitness/weight rooms for those ages 13-15.) Stop by any M-NCPPC community center to get your new, FREE, youth ID.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is requesting application from Montgomery County residents to serve as the Montgomery County Public Member on the Board of Trustees of the M-NCPPC Employees’ Retirement System. The Retirement System is a defined benefit pension plan for employees and officials of the M-NCPPC.

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is requesting application from Prince George’s County residents to serve as the Prince George’s County Public Member on the Board of Trustees of the M-NCPPC Employees’ Retirement System. The Retirement System is a defined benefit pension plan for employees and officials of the M-NCPPC. Of the 11-member Board, there are two Public Members—one from Prince George’s County and one from Montgomery County.

Cabin John Ice Rink Upcoming Events
Registration for all Spring ice skating classes runs from Tuesday, April 15 - Monday, April 21. Beginning April 22, registrations must be processed in person at the rink. Transfer requests will incur a $5 processing fee per request.

Those ages 13 or older are encouraged to get a FREE, 7-day fitness pass for use during the month of March at any M-NCPPC fitness facility in Prince George`s County.
Prince George`s County Affordable Housing Survey
During the first week of February, one in every 10
Prince George ’s County households will receive a Housing Affordability Survey by mail. The
Prince George ’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is sending this survey to gather information on residents’ housing costs, needs, and satisfaction with their current housing situation.
Montgomery County Planners to Study Purple Line
Planners have embarked on a study of the potential route of the proposed Purple Line that would connect Bethesda and New Carrollton. Find out more about the study.
Branch Avenue Corridor Sector Plan
The Prince George’s County Planning Department is preparing a sector plan and sectional map amendment for the Branch Avenue corridor starting from Naylor Road to St. Barnabas Road including Iverson Mall and Marlow Heights Shopping Center. The sector plan also includes St Barnabas Road from the Beltway to Silver Hill Road and the portion of Silver Hill Road from the Suitland Parkway to Branch Avenue.
