Just outside you’ll find Lafayette Square Park and learn stories of the Underground Railroad, the secret network that used the White House as a staging point for freedom seekers heading to Canada. Your final stop will be the National Museum of African-American History and Culture on the Mall. Experience four centuries of struggle and triumph, from the first enslaved people to arrive on our shores in 1619, to the election of the first African-American President in the 21st century.
