Boat Rentals
Explore the natural scenery of the Anacostia River from a canoe or kayak (single and tandem available) from Bladensburg Waterfront Park.
Rentals are available from April through October, 7 days a week. Online reservations are required and close at 12noon the day before the rental. Must be 18 or older to rent.
Rental Times
- April through October, 7 days a week (weather dependent), with launch times from 9 am to 2 pm, with equipment return by 4 pm.

Rental Requirements & Details
- Renters must be 18 years or older. Persons 17 and under must have an adult (18 or older) in the boat with them at all times.
- Must have a Parks Direct account and reserve boats online ahead of time.
- Must have a driver's license or government-issued identification (with birth date verification).
- Maximum four (4) boats can be rented per Parks Direct account/household per day.
- A Personal Flotation Device (life jacket) is provided to all boaters and must be worn at all times while on the water
- Please arrive several minutes prior to your launch time to park, gather your belongings, and prepare for your launch time. Parking is limited.
- While staff will be on the dock for needed assistance, we encourage all renters to be able to get in and out of rental boats by themselves or with help from their group.
- Face masks and coverings are required while interacting with park staff and on boat launch docks. You may remove face masks while on the water, but please remember to put them back on upon return to the dock.
- Additional fees will apply to the following: late returns, lost and/or damaged equipment, or rental agreement violations.

Enjoy a day of fishing in the park! It's your choice: fish from the pier or from the water's edge.
Things to Remember
- Bring your own fishing rod.
- Check the tide schedule and weather report.
- Bring your own bait.
- Maryland Tidal Water Fishing License is required for ages 16 and older (licenses are not sold in the park).
- Please call ahead for groups or other special requests.

Ropewalk Pavilion

The Ropewalk Pavilion is available for daily rentals and has approximately 24 picnic tables with a maximum seated capacity of 150 people.
Things to Remember
- All renters must have a Parks Direct to complete a rental contract
- Large groups or specialized functions (festivals and community events) must have permission, contract, or a reservation to use the pavilion or park
- Alcoholic beverages and smoking are not permitted in the park
- Grilling may be permitted with a contract and manager approval only
- Amplified music is not permitted, without prior manager approval
- Parking next to the pavilion or on the paved promenade area is not permitted
- All M-NCPPC park rules apply. Please call for more information.
Daily rate:
- Resident: $300
- Non-Resident: $400
- Security deposit $100 Additional fees may apply. Security deposit is due at time of reservation. Remaining balance due 60 days prior to rental. If rented under 60 days before your event, the full balance will be due at time of reservation.
All festivals and community events are included in the daily rate.
- Resident: $800
- Non-Resident: $1040
- Security deposit: $200 (additional fees may apply.) Full balance (security deposit and rental balance) is due at time of reservation.
Waterfront Studio

The Waterfront Studio is available to rent by the hour for meetings, gatherings, programs, lectures/exhibits, and other elegant functions, from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Maximum capacity is 50 people with tables and chairs or 60 people mingling. Includes exclusive use of an outdoor gated patio area with high top tables.
Things to Remember
- Tables and chairs are provided for studio rental
- The renter is responsible for set up and clean up of their event
- Your paid rental times must include setup and breakdown/clean up
- Kitchen facilities are not available
- Maintenance supplies are provided
- Decorations are permitted; adhesives must not damage the surfaces of walls
- Renters are permitted to use chafing dishes with canned gel fuel (sterno) to keep food warm
Hourly Fee Rates
- Resident: $90 per hour; Non-Resident: $117 per hour
- With Ropewalk Pavilion Rental Contract: Resident: $75 per hour; Non-Resident: $98 per hour
- Security Deposit: $100 (additional fees may apply.) Security deposit is due at time of reservation. Remaining balance due 60 days prior to rental. If rented under 60 days before your event, the full balance will be due at the time of reservation.
Classroom

The classroom is available to rent by the hour for meetings, birthday parties, and other small functions, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Maximum capacity is 40 people with tables and chairs or 50 people with auditorium-style seating.

- The renter is responsible for set up and clean up of their event
- Your paid rental times must include setup and breakdown/clean up
- Kitchen facilities are not available
