Transitway Systems Study
In Financial Year 2012, the Planning Department and Department of Public Works and Transportation were successful in obtaining $60,000 in consultant assistance from the Transportation Planning Board of the Council of Governments under the Transportation/Land Use Connections (TLC) Program for the Prince George's County Transitway Systems Study. The
final report of the study has been completed.
This project provided a comprehensive study of transitway alignment and modal options in the county, developing and evaluating ways to integrate the countywide transitway network with the preferred growth and development pattern envisioned by the 2002 Approved Prince George's County General Plan. The project included several interagency and interjurisdictional round tables that provided opportunities to gather information from key stakeholders in adjoining jurisdictions, marking the first time a regional discussion was formally conducted as part of a TLC project.
