Adapted Aquatic programs allow individuals with disabilities the opportunity to live more, play more with the use of adaptive equipment and specialized instruction.

Adapted Aquatics Training

Learn how to improve strokes and turns for competitive swimming. Adapted aquatic is designed for individuals with developmental disabilities ages 13 and up who have basic swimming skills and are able to function in a staff/participant ratio of 1 to 4. 

Adapted Aquatic Exercise

The Adapted Aquatic Exercise program is designed for individuals ages 16 and up with severe disabilities which require one-on-one supervision. All exercises are low impact and are implemented in a therapy tank. This program focuses on water safety, breath control, range of motion exercises and, pulling, pushing, and lifting. The buoyancy of the water supports the body and allows greater movement for individuals that have physical disabilities.

Individualized Swimming Lessons

Individualized Swimming Lessons are designed for children and adults with disabilities who require one-on-one instruction. The duration of each scheduled lesson is 30 minutes in length. Lessons are held at various locations throughout the county. Participants at all skill levels are welcome.

Social Swim

Social Swim is designed specifically for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. This program focuses on recreational swimming and gives participants the opportunity to socialize with their peers. Aquatic games such as beach ball volleyball, relay races, and basketball, help to facilitate socialization. Participants must be able to function within one staff member to three participants ratio.
